…we paddled the Congo lagoon in hosts Lin and Steve’s blue double kayak. The amber-coloured waters reflected the shoreline as pelicans, cormorants, ducks and a big white spoonbill, which did not lift a feather as we slipped quietly along within 10 metres of its perch, also enjoyed the lagoon amenity.
