Four Days on Islay

$18.70

Bob and Paul visited the Inner Hebrides island of Islay, population 3,500, and some of its famous distilleries, in the spring of 2015 when it was autumn back in Tasmania and farmer Paul’s sheep could fend for themselves. The small island echoed much of Tasmania – including its whisky distilleries – on the other side of the planet.

Their visit began with a ferry trip from Oban on a raw, cold, rainy day. Five days later they departed Islay for Glasgow, via the ferry to Kennacraig, in such foul weather that all the other ferries plying Scotland’s west coast were cancelled. However, the four days on Islay were an absolute delight.
Introduction

This little book is to share that delight, knowing that there is more to discover if they – or you – are lucky enough to visit Islay in the future.
